How does Bonded Connectivity work?

Bonded Connectivity combines multiple internet links—fibre, LTE, 5G, or wireless—into a single high-performance connection. Each link is intelligently managed and
aggregated for speed, stability, and resilience, ensuring you always get the best possible throughput and seamless failover.

Instead of relying on a single line that may fail or bottleneck, you gain a multi-path solution designed to keep your business, event, or operation always online, faster, and more reliable.

Steps

1

Site and link discovery:

Inventory fibre, broadband, LTE or 5G, and wireless links with speeds, SLAs, and IP requirements.

2

Design and policy:

Choose bonding method (for example SD-WAN or MPTCP). Define QoS classes, application policies, path preferences, encryption, MTU, and NAT.

3

Pre-configure and stage:

Build controllers or head-end, create tunnels to PoPs, set health checks, and prepare CPE with per-link settings. Lab test throughput and packet ordering.

4

Pilot and failover tests:

Install at a pilot site. Simulate brownouts and blackouts, measure latency, jitter, aggregation, and convergence, then tune.

5

Rollout and monitor:

Phase the rollout. Monitor per-link health, alerts, and SLA performance. Maintain runbooks and provider contacts.

Why Bonded Connectivity with Xpedite

Aggregate multiple links into one seamless connection for speed, reliability, and always-on performance.

Multi-Link Aggregation

Combine fibre, LTE/5G, and wireless into a single bonded connection for higher throughput and fewer bottlenecks.

Seamless Failover

If one link drops, traffic is instantly rerouted without disruption—keeping you always online and mission-ready.

Optimised Performance

Intelligent traffic distribution ensures smooth video calls, low-latency apps, and consistent speeds across devices and sites.

Better ROI

Maximise value from existing connections by bonding them into a smarter, faster solution without needing expensive single-line upgrades.

Bonded Connectivity vs Single ISP Line

Why multi-link bonding outperforms single-line connections: speed, uptime, resilience, and better ROI.

Capability
Bonded Connectivity Xpedite
Single ISP Line Traditional
Throughput
Aggregates multiple links for higher bandwidth
Limited to one line’s max speed
Reliability
Automatic failover between fibre, LTE/5G, and wireless
Outages take you completely offline
Performance
Intelligent traffic distribution for low latency apps
Best-effort only, no optimisation
Resilience
Multiple paths mean no single point of failure
One cable cut = downtime
ROI
Leverages existing links, avoids costly upgrades
High costs for higher single-line capacity
Bonded connectivity setup delivering high-speed, resilient internet
